Welcome
My name is Eric Salazar, and I am looking to buy and operate a business in Texas. If you are a business owner looking to exit your business or retire, we should talk!
I am an experienced entrepreneur and management consultant with more than ten years of experience assisting clients across a diverse set of industries, from industrial to consumer to technology. I enjoy the challenge of unlocking the potential in a business: driving revenue growth, reducing costs, and optimizing financial performance while fostering a positive culture.
About Me
I was born and raised in Panama City, Panama, where I spent my youth. With limited funds, big aspirations, and a passion for pursuing the ‘American Dream’, at the age of 20, I moved to the U.S. to study engineering at Texas A&M University.
During my time in College Station, Texas I pursued an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, followed by a master’s degree in engineering systems management. I was fortunate to be appointed to a research assistant position in the Industrial Distribution department. As a researcher, I focused on understanding the economic, financial, operational, and supply chain implications of moving operations between the United States and Mexico. That work heightened my awareness of the opportunities and challenges in managing and operating a business. But most importantly, this is the time in which I met my now wife, Emily.
After university, I joined KPMG in their strategy and operations practice based in the Dallas office, with client assignments that crossed industries and took me around the world. My work there included projects including strategic assessments to multi-million-dollar technology implementations. I enjoyed the challenges and rewards of this type of work but always knew that my ultimate goal was to become an owner and operator of a business I could call my very own.
During the pandemic, Emily and I welcomed the birth of our two daughters. At the same time, we decided to move the family to Cambridge, Massachusetts for a year so that I could pursue an MBA in the MIT Sloan Fellows Program. There I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of business fundamentals, corporate strategy, and entrepreneurship. Perhaps even more importantly, I used the opportunity to broaden my network and gain the support of seasoned entrepreneurs and investors who have agreed to back me and support me in this endeavor.
Outside of work, I enjoy adventure, challenging myself, and supporting my community. I participate in multiple multi-day endurance cycling events to fundraise for leukemia and multiple sclerosis. I am learning how to ski, and I am serving as a board member for a local non-profit focused on providing education for underserved young women in Texas. Emily and I are raising our two daughters to share our core values of family, hard work, educational excellence, embracing new challenges, and supporting the communities in which we live.
Approach
I am searching for a Texas-based business between $2 – $20 million in annual sales that is profitable and with growth potential. I prefer businesses engaged in B2B services, including industrial, transportation, and healthcare companies, but I am open to other interesting opportunities as well.
If you feel that I might help you drive value for your company and set it on a course to achieve its next level while preserving your legacy, I am interested in connecting with you.
